Inconel 600 (UNS N06600) is an austenitic nickel-chromium alloy designed for operation in conditions of extreme temperatures and aggressive environments, where high resistance to oxidation and corrosion is required. This material, supplied by EV Group China, maintains high mechanical strength and structural integrity at temperatures up to 1150 °C. According to GOST 5632-72, its closest analogues in the Russian standard system are alloys of grades XH60BT and XH78T.

Key Performance Characteristics
A significant mass fraction of nickel (>72%) gives Inconel 600 alloy outstanding resistance to a wide range of corrosive environments. The material demonstrates immunity to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in chloride-containing media and excellent resistance to high-temperature sulfide corrosion, which is critically important for petrochemical and energy equipment.
Technological Aspects: Weldability and Processing
Inconel 600 alloy has good weldability and can be joined by most standard methods, including gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW/TIG) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW/MIG). To ensure the homogeneity and strength of the weld seam, comparable to the base metal, it is necessary to use welding materials with identical alloying, such as ERNiCr-3 wire or ENiCrFe-3 electrodes.
Industrial Applications of Inconel 600 Alloy
- Oil Refining and Chemistry: components of reactors for vinyl chloride production, piping systems for dichloroethylene cracking.
- Nuclear Industry: steam generators, elements of the active zone of nuclear reactors, sealing units.
- Aerospace Industry: gas turbine engine parts, exhaust systems, cladding elements operating at high temperatures.
- Thermal Equipment: muffles, retorts, carburizing baskets, conveyor belts and fans for industrial furnaces.
- Food and Pulp and Paper Industry: equipment for fatty acid processing, digesters operating in aggressive alkaline environments.
