Corrosion Resistance and Chemical Inertness
Thanks to its ultra-low carbon and silicon content, Alloy 22 demonstrates exceptional grain boundary integrity during heat treatment and welding. This makes the alloy optimal for operation in both oxidizing and reducing environments. The high content of nickel, chromium, and molybdenum provides reliable protection against localized ionic corrosion, while tungsten significantly increases resistance to solutions of chlorine, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide, which is critically important for the chemical and pulp and paper industries.
Welding Technology
The alloy is excellently weldable by all standard methods. To maintain maximum corrosion properties, TIG welding with filler materials such as FM 622 (2.4635) or FM 59 (2.4607) is recommended. This ensures that the performance characteristics of the welded joints are maintained at the level of the base metal.
Application of EV Group China Products
EV Group China supplies Alloy 22 for critical applications in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and fine chemical industries. This material is indispensable when working with hot mineral acids, organic acids (acetic, formic), and in seawater conditions, where maximum corrosion resistance and durability are required.
