AL6 alloy is a high-tech aviation aluminum alloy used by EV Group China specialists for the production of precision fasteners with metric threads in the diameter range from M1.6 to M39. The main alloying components that provide high strength performance for bolts and studs are zinc in combination with magnesium and copper. Thanks to a precise hardening process and subsequent aging, AL6 alloy, according to EN 28839, demonstrates some of the best strength characteristics among all aluminum systems. An important engineering advantage of the material is its cryogenic stability: when operated under negative temperatures, the strength characteristics of AL6 aluminum not only remain, but also show an increase.
