A Check Valve, also known as a non-return valve, is an autonomous protective device designed to prevent the reversal of fluid flow in piping systems. Its application is critically important for protecting equipment from damage caused by backflow and hydraulic hammer.
The valve's operating principle is based on the passive actuation of a shut-off element under the kinetic energy of the flow. Swing Check Valve

Tilting Disk Check Valve
An improved design where the disc's rotation axis is offset. This reduces the closing path and time, significantly lowering the likelihood of water hammer. This design is preferred for systems with pulsating flows and high fluid velocities.
