DIN 17175 Standard: Technical Specifications for Heat-Resistant Seamless Tubes for Power Engineering

Attention: The DIN 17175 standard has been officially withdrawn and replaced by the current European standard EN 10216-2.

Technical Regulations and Scope of Application

This standard specifies the technical delivery conditions for seamless tubes, including collector system elements, made of heat-resistant steel grades listed in the table below. Products complying with these requirements are intended for use in steam generating plants, high-temperature pipeline systems, and pressure vessels. The maximum operating temperature is 600 °C; however, the actual limit is determined by a combination of factors: mechanical load intensity, internal pressure, and the degree of exposure to oxidizing environments.

In the context of this standard, "heat-resistant steels" refers to alloys that maintain stable physical and mechanical properties, including creep resistance, during prolonged operation under high-temperature conditions.
