Copper U-bend tubes for heat exchangers: ASTM B395 specification

Technical requirements and scope of U-bend tubes

This specification defines strict industry requirements for seamless U-bend tubes intended for integration into condenser units, evaporators, and heat exchange equipment. High-quality copper alloys and pure copper are used as base raw materials, ensuring optimal thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance in aggressive environments.

The regulation covers metal products with a nominal outside diameter of up to 50 mm (2 inches) inclusive. EV Group China supplies components that fully comply with international quality standards.

The following grades of copper alloys are used for the production of these products:

UNS Designation Previous Designation Alloy Type
C10020OFOxygen-free copper without residual deoxidants
C10300-Oxygen-free copper with extra-low P content
C10800-Oxygen-free copper with low P content

Note: Designations are based on ASTM B224 classification.

When handling materials and conducting tests, safety protocols must be strictly followed. This standard does not address all safety concerns associated with equipment operation. Special attention should be paid to handling mercury-containing substances, which can cause critical corrosion of copper alloys and pose health risks. It is recommended to consult current Safety Data Sheets (SDS) before starting installation work.

EV Group China products are manufactured in accordance with international standardization principles established by the WTO Committee on Technical Barriers to Trade.
