Seamless Austenitic Pipes ASTM A376 for High-Temperature Systems

Technical description and operational characteristics of the ASTM A376 standard

The ASTM A376 standard regulates the production of seamless pipes made of high-alloy austenitic steels, designed for stable operation under critically high temperatures. The specification covers not only basic steel grades but also specialized alloys with high nitrogen content, as well as "H" grade steels that possess improved creep properties under prolonged thermal exposure.

Initially, ASTM A376 was developed for the needs of thermal power engineering, where maximum reliability of steam pipelines and superheating systems is required. Due to their high corrosion resistance and mechanical strength, pipes of this standard are successfully used in the petrochemical, gas, and nuclear industries, where operational loads meet the strict requirements of the specification.

EV Group China supplies metal products that fully comply with this standard. Upon customer request, advanced testing as provided for by additional requirements S1–S10 can be conducted, which allows us to guarantee the quality of products for highly critical components.

Important note: for steel grades TP321 and TP321H, adjusted strength indicators are established for wall thicknesses greater than 9.5 mm (3⁄8"), which must be taken into account when designing engineering systems.
