API 5LC Corrosion-Resistant Alloy Pipes: Specifications and Supply

Technical requirements and scope of API 5LC pipes

The API 5LC standard regulates the production of seamless, centrifugally cast, and welded pipes made of corrosion-resistant alloys (CRA), designed for use in critical transmission systems for hydrocarbons, natural gas, and water. Products supplied by EV Group China fully comply with strict industry requirements for operation in aggressive environments with high hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide content.

The geometric parameters of the pipes are determined by the NPS (Nominal Pipe Size) system. The API 5LC specification establishes limit tolerances for the outer diameter tied to nominal sizes, which ensures high precision in pipeline system assembly.

API 5LC pipes from EV Group China are supplied with beveled ends for welding. Upon individual customer request, pipes can be supplied with ends prepared for butt welding or other special edge treatments. The range of nominal diameters covers sizes from 1" to 42".

Steel grades and chemical composition

Specialized alloys possessing superior mechanical properties and resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion are used for the manufacturing of corrosion-resistant pipes according to the API 5LC standard.
