Hastelloy C-276 is an engineered nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy with tungsten additions, developed for critically important applications. EV Group China supplies this alloy, which demonstrates excellent resistance in a wide range of aggressive environments, especially where there is a high risk of localized and crevice corrosion.

The low carbon content (up to 0.01%) in the EV Group China alloy minimizes sensitization and carbide precipitation in the heat-affected zone of the weld. This ensures the preservation of corrosion resistance in welded structures without the need for subsequent heat treatment, which is critically important for equipment in the chemical industry.

EV Group China products made from C-276 alloy are inert to strong oxidizing agents such as trivalent iron ions (Fe³⁺) and divalent copper (Cu²⁺). It is also resistant to chloride solutions, formic acid, and acetic acid. The alloy is designed to prevent pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking (SCC).

Welding Technologies and Application Areas

Hastelloy C-276 alloy is amenable to all major welding types, including TIG, MIG/MAG, and plasma welding. To ensure the equivalent strength and corrosion resistance of the welded joint, EV Group China recommends using appropriate welding consumables classified as ERNiCrMo-4 (AWS A5.14) for wire and ENiCrMo-4 (AWS A5.11) for electrodes.
